Greenbrier Country Club is a premier private golf club located in Chesapeake, Virginia. The club boasts a rich history that dates back to 1961, when a group of local businessmen formed the Greenbrier Country Club Corporation to build a golf course and club in the area.
Today, Greenbrier Country Club is home to an 18-hole championship golf course designed by renowned golf course architect Rees Jones. The course features bent grass greens, Bermuda grass fairways, and a challenging layout that has earned it recognition as one of the top golf courses in Virginia.
In addition to golf, the club offers a wide range of amenities for its members, including tennis courts, swimming pools, a fitness center, and a clubhouse with multiple dining options. The clubhouse features a formal dining room, a casual grille, and a bar, as well as private event spaces for weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions.
One of the unique features of Greenbrier Country Club is its focus on family-friendly activities. The club offers a variety of programs and events for children of all ages, including summer camps, swim lessons, and junior golf programs. This commitment to family fun and activities has helped the club to build a strong sense of community among its members.

The club has implemented a number of green initiatives, such as the use of energy-efficient lighting, recycling programs, and the installation of low-flow toilets and faucets. In addition, the club has taken steps to minimize its impact on the surrounding environment by using environmentally-friendly landscaping practices and preserving natural areas on the golf course.
The club's commitment to sustainability extends beyond its own operations. In 2018, Greenbrier Country Club hosted the annual Green Golf Classic, a charity golf tournament that raised funds for environmental organizations such as the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Elizabeth River Project.
Overall, Greenbrier Country Club offers its members an exceptional golf experience, as well as a wide range of amenities and activities for the whole family. Its commitment to sustainability and community involvement make it a standout among private golf clubs in Virginia.
