Iron Horse Golf Club is an exceptional golf course located in Ashland, Nebraska, a small city about 20 miles west of Omaha. Designed by renowned golf architect Gene Bates, Iron Horse Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course that measures 7,012 yards from the longest tees.
The course is set in a beautiful landscape, surrounded by rolling hills, mature trees, and pristine lakes. The natural beauty of the area is perfectly integrated into the course design, creating a challenging and picturesque golf experience.
Iron Horse Golf Club features bentgrass fairways, tees, and greens, which provide a superb playing surface that is both durable and consistent. The greens are fast and undulating, making putting a true test of skill and precision. The fairways are generous but have strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, requiring accurate tee shots to set up good approach shots. The course also has some long and challenging par-4s and par-5s, which will test the skills of even the best golfers.
One of the standout holes on the course is the par-3 17th, which features an island green surrounded by water. This hole is both visually stunning and challenging, requiring a precise shot to avoid a watery demise. The 18th hole is also a fantastic finishing hole, with a fairway that slopes from left to right and a green protected by water and bunkers. A par on this hole is a great accomplishment.
Iron Horse Golf Club also offers excellent practice facilities, including a driving range, a chipping area, and a putting green. The club has a fully stocked pro shop, and the clubhouse features a bar and grill, a banquet room, and a patio overlooking the course.
The staff at Iron Horse Golf Club is friendly and knowledgeable, and they are committed to providing excellent customer service. The club offers a range of membership options, as well as daily fee rates for non-members. The club also hosts tournaments and outings throughout the year, making it a great place to host a corporate or charity event.
Overall, Iron Horse Golf Club is an outstanding golf course that offers a challenging and rewarding golf experience in a beautiful setting. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, Iron Horse Golf Club is a must-play course for any golfer visiting the Omaha area. With its exceptional design, impeccable conditions, and outstanding amenities, Iron Horse Golf Club is truly a gem of a course in the heart of Nebraska.
