The Koasati Pines Golf Course is located in Coushatta, Louisiana, and is one of the premier golf courses in the area. It is situated on the land of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana and is named after the Koasati people, who are a part of the tribe.
The course is a par-72 championship layout that measures over 7,400 yards from the back tees. It was designed by the renowned golf course architect, Kevin Tucker, who has also designed other award-winning courses around the country. The course has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the "Best New Courses" in America and has also been ranked as one of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play" by Golf Magazine.
The course is surrounded by towering pine trees, giving it a majestic and peaceful atmosphere. The greens are well-manicured and fast, while the fairways are wide and forgiving. Water comes into play on several holes, providing a challenging but fair test for golfers of all skill levels.
The signature hole of the course is the par-5 18th, which measures 569 yards from the back tees. The hole requires a well-placed tee shot to avoid the water that runs down the left side of the fairway. The second shot must be played to a narrow landing area, with water again on the left and bunkers on the right. The approach shot must carry over water to a green that slopes from back to front, making par a great score on this challenging hole.
The Koasati Pines Golf Course also offers a fully stocked pro shop, a practice facility that includes a driving range, chipping and putting greens, and a full-service restaurant and bar. The clubhouse is designed in the same style as the Koasati Tribe's traditional homes, with native-inspired artwork and decor throughout.
In addition to golf, the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana also offers other amenities at their resort, including a casino, hotel, RV park, and several dining options. The resort is located in the heart of Louisiana's Cajun country, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore the area's unique culture and cuisine.
Overall, the Koasati Pines Golf Course at Coushatta, Louisiana, offers golfers a challenging and rewarding experience in a beautiful and tranquil setting. The course is well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful, making it an excellent choice for golfers of all levels. The surrounding resort offers a range of amenities, making it a great destination for golfers and non-golfers alike.
