Lake Fork Golf Course is a scenic and challenging golf course located in Emory, Texas, United States. This 18-hole course has been consistently rated as one of the best public golf courses in Texas and the country. The course is located just an hour and a half east of Dallas and has become a popular destination for golfers of all skill levels.
The course was designed by Ralph Plummer, a renowned golf course architect, in 1982. The course underwent a significant renovation in 2003, which included the addition of new tees, bunkers, and greens, as well as the planting of over 600 trees. The renovations have made the course even more challenging, while also enhancing its natural beauty.
The course is set on rolling hills and features well-manicured fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and challenging water hazards. The par-72 course measures 7,000 yards from the back tees and has a slope rating of 136, making it one of the most challenging courses in the area.
One of the most memorable holes on the course is the par-5 13th hole, which requires golfers to navigate a challenging dogleg left that is bordered by a lake on the left side. The hole requires a well-placed tee shot and a precise approach shot to reach the green in regulation. Another challenging hole is the par-4 16th, which requires a long and accurate tee shot to avoid the water hazard that runs along the left side of the fairway.
The course is also known for its excellent practice facilities, which include a driving range, putting green, and chipping green. The driving range is one of the largest in Texas and features both grass and synthetic tees. The putting green and chipping green are also well-maintained and provide golfers with the opportunity to practice their short game.
In addition to its excellent golf course and practice facilities, Lake Fork Golf Course also offers a fully-stocked pro shop and a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
